Vietnam Southern Province Announces List of Environmental Polluters

Vietnam’s southern province of Binh Duong has announced a list of 91 firms which have caused seriously environmental pollution since early this year, the state-run Vietnam News Agency said. These environmental polluters include a number of foreign –invested firms such as Jorn Technology Co., Ltd and Taung Liang Industry Co., Ltd, both from Taiwan.  On July 7, the local authorities suspended operations of Ngan Dan Trade-Service Co., Ltd and Thinh Huyen store under Thinh Huyen private enterprise for causing environmental pollution.  The provincial authorities have asked all polluters to take measures to overcome consequences before July 31. A recent survey showed that just 4.67% of companies in Binh Duong meet environmental requirements. Currently, up to 15 industrial complexes in the province do not have wastewater treatment systems.
