Vietnam to Spend VND26T for Vocational Training for Rural Workers

The Vietnamese government is expected to spend VND26 trillion ($1.46 billion) for a project to provide vocational training activities for rural workers from now until 2020, the Dai Doan Ket newspaper reported, citing the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs. The Ministry of Labor and government agencies are working on the project and will submit it to Prime Minister for approval. Currently, only 18.7% of rural workers in Vietnam are vocationally trained compared with the country’s average 25%, according to statistics released by the General Department for Vocational Training.
