Vietnam to Spend VND700B to Develop Self-made School Equipment

The Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) is expected to spend VND700 billion ($37.9 million) to develop self-made school equipment for preschools, secondary and high schools in the 2010-2014 period. The funding will be used to make school equipment at localities as well as organize training courses on the issue, the Ha Noi Moi newspaper reported Wednesday, citing participants at a conference in Hanoi Dec 8. The ministry will hold seminars in the central and southern regions to gather ideas for the project soon.   Vietnam plans to allocate VND648 billion ($39.5 million) for the education and training sector this year, up 12.7% from 2008.
