Vietnam Will Build 2,500 Houses for Poor People: Youth Federation

The Vietnam Youth Federation will build 2,500 houses each valued at VND30 million for social beneficiaries nationwide from late this month.
The federation will give priority to build houses for ethnic people, people with dedications to the country and residents in calamity areas in Cao Bang, Dak Lak and Ben Tre, the Tuoi Tre newspaper reported on Dec. 9.  Saigon Commercial Bank (SCB) and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha pledged to finance a total of VND53 billion to the program.  The program is expected to end by October 2010.
