Waste Transporters Lose Licenses for Unsafe Dumping

Vietnamese authorities have revoked the licenses of three dangerous waste transporters for illegally dumping toxic materials and violating other safety regulations. The Environment Protection Department under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has asked Danang Urban Environment Company, Tan Duc Thao Ltd. in Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Hung Ltd. in Hanoi to return their business’ licenses.
Tan Duc Thao Company was licensed to operate across the country in 2007 but it has since been fined several times for environmental pollution and dumping at illegal sites in the city’s Binh Chanh District, where the firm is based.
