WB Helps Improve Urban Management Competence for Vietnamese Officials

The Ministry of Construction and the World Bank co-organized a two-day training course to equip urban management for Vietnamese officials in Hanoi December 14 amid the fast urbanization process in the communist country.  The World Bank’s Country Director in Vietnam, Victoria Kwakwa said that this is the first-ever training course held in Vietnam with aims to improve leaders’ urban management competence.  The course with the participation of famous lecturers and professors from Harvard, Georgetown and California - Berkeley universities provided 35 Vietnamese city leaders with international experience and knowledge of urbanization and city management.  Foreign experts expected that the course would help Vietnamese officials to stop unscientific urbanization process. After the course, the leaders will visit Incheon city of South Korea for management measures and competitive strategies.
