WB to Support Vietnam in Technology Renovation

The World Bank (WB) will assist Vietnam to build up a project on science and technology renovation, the WB’s Vice Chairman Janamitra Devan at a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan April 1. Nhan proposed the WB help Vietnam organize a conference on technology renovation in 2010, the government said on its website April 1. Janamitra Devan agreed that science and technology plays an important role in socio-economic development, urging Vietnam to invest more in the issue. Vietnam needs between $6 billion and $7 billion to import technology and equipment each year, according to the National Department of Science and Technology Information.
