World Bank Funds $7.32M for Energy Project in Vietnam Province

The World Bank will grant VND139 billion ($7.32 million) to the rural energy II (RE II) project worth VND168 billion ($8.84 million) in the northern province of Hoa Binh. The remaining VND29 billion ($1.53 million) of the project’s total investment will come from the provincial budget, the state-run Electricity of Vietnam Group (EVN) said on its website. The project is aimed at upgrading 546.575 kilometers of low-voltage power lines and building 34,797 electricity meters in nines districts of Lac Son, Ky Son, Kim Boi, Mai Chau, Cao Phong, Luong Son, Yen Thuy, Tan Lac and Lac Thuy. It is expected to be completed in November 2011.
