Blended Learning Program on Science and Policy of Climate Change
April 11 – July 11, 2012 at Vietnam Development Information Center

A twelve-week, Blended Learning Program on Science and Climate Change will be jointly developed by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), in collaboration with the World Bank Tokyo Development Learning Centre (TDLC). The Program follows an interdisciplinary approach and is enriched by audio, video, and interactive web-based content. It uses the latest information and communication technology (ICT) tools and techniques and also employs a unique format of learning through video conferencing by utilizing the facilities of Global Development Learning Network (GDLN) - an initiative started and developed by the World Bank in 2000.

The Program aims at:
- building capacities of individuals and organizations for a  better understanding of climate change dynamics;
- evolving an interdisciplinary approach towards understanding the various challenges posed by climate change; and
- providing participants an opportunity to demonstrate functional knowledge of the core issues of climate change through analysis and diagnosis of real-world problems.

Consisting of four learning modules spreading over three weeks each, with duration of each module of 20-25 learning hours, the Program will be delivered in English through a blended learning format comprising video-recorded lectures, academic articles and multimedia among others. It will be made available through the Moodle learning management system.

Target audience of the Program includes development practitioners, policy makers, corporate sector, graduates and mid-level professionals with proficiency in English. A fee of US$120 will be applied per resident from Vietnam (which is already reduced under the sponsorship of the Vietnam Development Information Center - VDIC). Interested learners are required to register online at: http://www.esdonline.org/spcc/ starting from February 27, 2012.
