Call for interest of expression for EMWG workshop "Effective community involvement of ethnic minorities in program development and implementation"

The Ethnic Minorities Working Group (EMWG) is a forum for NGOs and other development agencies and professionals to exchange ideas and lessons learned about how to improve development policies and practices for the benefit of ethnic minority peoples.

This year of 2013, the EMWG continues realizing its mission to facilitate the voice of ethnic minority people and empower them for their greater involvement in development programs in their communities.

The pro-active involvement of communities in the implementation of projects plays an extremely important role in creating transparency, bringing more benefits to themselves and greatly contributing to the sustainability of the projects. Local NGOs and INGOs working in Vietnam have their projects implemented across the country with the vastness of experiences in consulting with people and empowering them in their project implementation. In order to generalize those experiences, the EMWG is going to organize a Workshop on effective community involvement of ethnic minorities in program development and implementation.

This workshop mainly aims to share and learn experiences form ethnic minorities and NGO communities in effective community involvement of ethnic minorities in program development and implementation.

The one-day workshop will be held late March (between 18-28/3), 2013 in Hanoi.

The EMWG would like to send you a call for interest of expression from your organization in this topic. For detailed information on the workshop, kindly refer to the attached call letter and ToR (both in English and Vietnamese).

Any interested organizations should send their paper of expression/presentations to EMWG coordinator at [email protected] by February 3rd, 2013.
