As you might know, the Sixth Community-based Adaptation Conference (CBA) which has been decided to be organized in Vietnam next year (around April 2012).

Members of CCWG in Vietnam has been actively participating in the CBA 5 Conference in Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2011.

The Fifth International Conference on Community-Based Adaptation (CBA), organized by the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) and Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies (BCAS), took place  in Dhaka, Bangladesh from Monday, 28 to Thursday, 31 March 2011. The conference was themed “Scaling Up: Beyond Pilots,” focusing on the need to spread CBA knowledge and practical lessons horizontally across communities and vertically across levels of governance and action. Over 390 participants, representing over 190 nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), branches of government, international organizations, and academia were in attendance.

Please find attached the workshop report for your information.

In order to support the organization of the Sixth CBA Conference in Vietnam, NGOs members are invited to join in the Vietnam taskforce (NGOs of the two networks CCWG and DMWG, UNDP, members from DMC, DDMFSC, Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation, some agency under MONRE, and the Redcross).

The key tasks for the taskforce will involve:
