Exhibition Opening "Residency and co-authoring - the artists residency program “Cụng, Đụng, Chạm”" by ethnic minority people

Dear colleagues and friends,

Two months ago, on the Vietnam Ethnic Minority’s Culture Day - April 19, 2017 - “The Pioneers for the voice of Ethnic Minorities” group, together with the Institute for Studies of Society, Economy and Environment (iSEE), organised a cozy meeting with the artists, makers and creators of Hanoi at Manzi Art Space. This marks the launching of artists residency program “Cung, Dung, Cham”. For the first time since the founding of the group 5 years ago, we have invited artists, creators, individuals who are interested in the cultural diversity of the people of Vietnam to our home, where we live to stay, to breathe the very same air, exchange stories and viewpoints in 30 days of May 2017. 7 young people from the 4 artist groups, who we call “the image makers”, have had time to co-author with us, “the voice makers“ of ethnic communities, in Lao Cai, Yen Bai, and Dak Nong.

In order to celebrate this cung/tap, dung/bump, cham/touch, we would like to invite you to see our final works, with "images" and "voices" combined, at our group exhibition in Hà N?i. After this group exhibition, the works will be given back to the ethnic minority communities who composed them. The agenda for the opening is as followed:

19:00-19:30: Opening and guest registration.

19:30-20:30: Community art talk - How did we first tap/bump/touch each others?

(Please be noted that there won't be interpreters for this event)

The program is jointly organised by The Pioneers for the voice of Ethnic Minorities and iSEE, and is funded by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Hanoi.
