Micro Pension Seminar: What Can Asian Experience Mean for Vietnam & Regulation of Interest Rate for MFIs in Vietnam

The Vietnam Microfinance Working Group (MFWG) in partnership with Innovations in Financial  Inclusion (INFI), with the support of MCNV and WorldGranny will conduct a seminar on:

“MICRO PENSION SEMINAR:  WHAT CAN ASIAN EXPERIENCE MEAN FOR VIETNAM & REGULATION OF INTEREST RATE FOR MICROFINANCE INSTITUTIONS IN VIETNAM”

Purpose of the seminar

· Sharing the experience and increasing the awareness on Micro Pension

· Linking the Microfinance Institutions in Vietnam with International MicroPension Network

· Discussing about Regulation of Interest rate for Microfinance Institutions in Vietnam

Objectives

The objective of the seminar is to help answer the following questions and concerns:  

- to exchange views between the Vietnamese microfinance sector, the Dhan Foundation and the NL consultants of the Pension & Development Network on the role of micropensions.

- to exchange views and perspectives between participants in the Vietnamese microfinance sectors on the needs of their ageing clients and the possibilities for further research

- to identify the opportunities and obstacles for micro pension in Vietnam

- to establish closer relations between MCNV, WG, INFI and the Vietnamese microfinance sector

- Discuss, unity and provide the recommendations for the Regulation of Interest rate for Microfinance Institutions in Vietnam

Language:  The training will be facilitated in English with interpretation into Vietnamese.

Facilitators:

The content in Micro Pension will be performed by the professionals with years of experience in Micro Pension, including Ms. Caroline van Dullenmen; Mr Vasimalai; and Mr Balasubramanian

The content in Regulation of Interest rate for Microfinance Institutions in Vietnam will be performed Ms Le Thi Lan, Director of Community Finance and Resource Center (CFRC)

The organizer covered the costs for organizing this seminar including consultants, venue, and organization fee.

MCNV and WG, through MFWG, will support the participants (based on Confirmation Announcement from MFWG, Payment Request from participants and Original vouchers following Vietnam Financial Regulation): lunch & tea break cost in 25/3/2013; part of travel cost; the material in workshop and accommodation (max. 2 nights) and dinner cost in 25/3/2013 for the participants living out of Hanoi.
