CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST TO PARTICIPATE IN SWISS FUNDED BANK EXECUTIVE TRAINING COURSE 2015 - 2017

In partnership with the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) is funding the globally accredited quality training course for Vietnamese senior managers of local commercial banks. 

SECO is representing the Government of Switzerland to coordinate bilateral economic development cooperation with the recipient country, including Vietnam. Support to strengthen the Banking Sector for Vietnam is one of the pivotal themes that SECO is active in Vietnam. SECO hopes to contribute to the soundness and integrity of the Vietnamese banking sector via funding the sector-specialised training program dedicated for local senior banking managers.

The Swiss Finance Institute (SFI) is selected to deliver the training and Bank Training School (BTS) is assigned by SBV to be the coordinator for the training program. The Swiss Finance Institute (SFI), headquartered in Zurich, is a private foundation established by Switzerland's banking and finance community in cooperation with leading Swiss universities. It supports and advances research, doctoral training and executive education in banking and finance.

Banking Training School and the Swiss Finance Institute are jointly selecting 60 participants (30 participants for the Southern course and 30 for the Northern course):  

BANK EXECUTIVE TRAINING COURSE 2015-2017

The training aims to enhance the management knowledge base and hands-on capabilities of senior managers from Vietnamese banks.  It will be an in-country training program that is complemented with a one-week training module in Switzerland deserved for up to ten English-speaking participants from banks with the best overall performance.

The training program will be delivered in the North and in the South to maximum 80 participants (including 20 trainers) coming from State-owned Commercial Banks (SOCB) and Joint Stock Banks (JSB) for 24 months starting from May 2015.

The training will cover 4 groups of topics, namely  i) Leadership Issues, ii) Core Banking Issue, iii) Risk Management Issues and iv) Strategic Business Orientation. The training will be delivered in English with simultaneous translation into Vietnamese.

The first training module will be tentatively delivered in May 2015.

The participants will be selected on the basis of their current or foreseen leadership roles and thus their potential to influence management practice in their institutions.

The applicant should be:

  • Less than 48 years old and currently at director or deputy director level in head office or branches, who are expected to have senior management career paths;
  • English proficiency: able to communicate in English
  • Dynamic, motivated, talented professional with strong analytical, interpersonal, social and communication skills;
  • Rich experience in banking sector;

The applicant is supported by his employer for participating in the training course

The applicant is committed to fully and actively engage in the entire training course

The applicant is committed to fulfill the individual project based on the knowledge learnt

Interested candidates should submit the following documents by post or electronically

  • A curriculum vitae mentioning their current position, last promotion, working experience, previous education/trainings in banking/finance, copies of degrees and personal information (gender, age, recent photo);
  • A commitment letter issued by their bank declares that participant is given time off to join the training and the bank will pay a participating fee of USD 2000 per participant as well as expenses of the participant such as accommodation and allowance.
  • A written statement by participant confirming that he (she) will i) actively engage in all training modules; ii) utilize e-learning modules for areas they are deficit; and iii) actively engage in the change management module and project
