The Aus4Innovation program has launched Round 5 of its Innovation Partnership Grants.
With a total of AUD 2 million in financial support, individual grants of AUD 300,000 to AUD 700,000 will be awarded on a competitive basis to Australian and Vietnamese organisations, who already have existing Partnerships.
Under the theme “High Tech Innovation to Address Climate Change Challenges in the Agriculture Sector for Inclusive Development”, this grant round welcomes ideas that utilise advanced technology to address climate change challenges such as:
- Decreasing productivity in the agricultural production and processing, due to rising temperatures, erratic rainfall, extreme weather events, disease outbreaks, post-harvest losses, or agricultural waste.
- Decreasing efficiency and availability of key agricultural inputs, such as soil, water, fertilisers, pesticides etc. under conditions of prolonged drought, flooding, and land degradation.
- Limited adoption and commercialisation of digital solutions that could potentially optimise agricultural processes, reduce emissions and/or enhance climate adaptation.
- Challenges in achieving seamless integration into global/regional supply chains due to lack of widespread climate-smart practices.
- Increasing pressures on livestock systems due to climate change (e.g. heat stress on animals, water scarcity, increased disease risks, etc.) contributing to inefficient manure management and suboptimal feed and fodder management that hinder the promotion of sustainable livestock practices.
- Widening socio-economic disparities as climate change disproportionately affects disadvantaged groups – such as women, people with disabilities, ethnic minorities, or communities living in areas that are under-developed or climate-vulnerable areas.
Grantees will have up to 24 months to implement their proposed activities.
Applications close 24 June 2025 (23:59 AEST).

Innovation Partnership Grants are a key element of the Aus4Innovation program, a 10-year (2018-2028) AUD 33.5 million flagship initiative aimed at strengthening Vietnam’s innovation system to support inclusive and sustainable socio-economic development.
The program is funded by Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), co-funded and managed by CSIRO – Australia’s national science agency and delivered in strategic partnership with Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology.
