Advisor, Health Systems Strengthening (HSS)

FHI 360, also known as Family Health International, is a non-governmental organization that works with the Vietnam Ministry of Health, other ministries, provincial health services, and local non-government organizations to promote the health and well-being of the Vietnamese population, particularly vulnerable and disenfranchised groups. In Vietnam, FHI 360 is currently building the capacity of local organizations in HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and treatment; TB control; nutrition; maternal and child health; dengue control; behavioral and epidemiologic research methods training; clinical research in new vaccines and drugs; and laboratory strengthening.
They are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Advisor, Health Systems Strengthening (HSS) based in Hanoi, Vietnam

Position responsibility:
This position will play a lead role in the USAID-supported Sustainable Management of the HIV/AIDS Response and Transition to Technical Assistance (SMART TA) Project. A dynamic and experienced public health professional is needed to guide and obtaining consensus from partners on optimal health systems strengthening strategies as part of the transitioning of USAID-supported interventions and technical assistance from FHI 360 to local partners. In this capacity, s/he will support the Chief of Party and Deputy Chief of Party and serve as the major daily liaison to the Ministry of Health, a National Transition Advisory Board (NTAB) that will soon be formed as part of the project, and USAID. S/he will also provide updates and guidance to SMART TA senior management staff on health systems and transition planning.

Position Requirements:
- Advanced degree in medicine, public health, or a related discipline.
- 10 years of experience in Vietnam in public health.
- Intense understanding of the MOH and provincial health services, particularly the integration of donor-supported programs into national and provincial responses.
- Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide array of people throughout a complex organization.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in both Vietnamese and English.
