About the role

Reporting to the Investing in Women CEO, you will drive advocacy and communication strategies to influence women’s economic empowerment in the Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia. You will work with champions for women’s economic empowerment and mobilise coalitions and networks (both online and physical) to identify and support strengthening efforts that help to build voice and the space for women in the private sector.

This is an exciting position, leading the implementation of two key elements:

  • You will plan and implement advocacy and influencing campaigns that catalyse shifts in public attitudes and organisational and institutional norms that affect and define women’s economic opportunities.
  • You will lead and coordinate communication strategies that disseminate credible and compelling information to help build the business case for investing in women.

About Investing in Women

Funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s (DFAT) Aid Program, Investing in Women seeks to empower women economically in South East Asia with the understanding that this will contribute to continued inclusive economic growth in the region. Investing in Women aims to achieve this through supporting:

  • Workplace gender equity
  • Investments in women’s small and medium enterprises
  • Removal of policy and regulatory barriers to women’s economic empowerment
  • Public attitudes to be more supportive of women’s economic empowerment

Skills Required

You will possess appropriate tertiary qualifications with at least 15 years of experience delivering advocacy and communication strategies that have shifted public attitudes and organisational and institutional norms, ideally in South East Asia. You will have a proven track record of influencing partners, government and other key stakeholders across South East Asia and will feel a connection to Abt’s values and be motivated by our mission to improve the lives of people worldwide.
