Agribusiness Junior Advisor

SNV Vietnam is looking for a: Agribusiness Junior Advisor, based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

SNV has been working in Vietnam since 1995. Using market based approaches, SNV is committed to reducing poverty by catalyzing environmentally sustainable solutions for the poor in agriculture, energy, water & sanitation, and REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation).

SNV is engaged in the agriculture sector implementing Sustainable Markets, Inclusive Business (IB) and Climate Smart Agriculture programmes and projects.  Under the Sustainable Markets Programme, SNV is working from a market-based approach including certification mechanisms for sustainable crop production in coffee, cassava, pepper, tea, spices; among others. As a part of these mechanisms, SNV creates and support market linkages among small farmers and private sector companies, including commodity traders, food processors and/or agribusiness.

We are seeking for a candidate to fill in the position of Agribusiness Junior Advisor

Responsibilities
Develop and implement Sustainable Supply Chain Development models with  agribusinesses, service providers and small holder producers in the Central Highland and South East provinces in Vietnam
Involve in the baseline and market studies, value chain assessment, development of service market and improvement of enabling environment for sustainable agriculture production strategies 
Explore, establish and maintain effective partnerships with the key stakeholders
Contribute to  project progress reports and project references
Facilitate the learning and development of agriculture certification scheme in Vietnam context
Capture, structure and document both explicit and tacit knowledge in our advisory role

Candidate profile
Vietnamese citizen
Bachelor degree in Agronomist, Agricultural Business Management, Agricultural Economics
2 years of working experience in agro-economics, business management or private sector in Agri-business
Experience in facilitation of supply chain development with application of sustainable agriculture certification scheme is a plus
Good understanding of field realities; ability to link different professional spheres: business, government, development and funding agencies
Excellent spoken and written Vietnamese and English
Good computer skills in MS-applications (Word, Excel, Internet, Email)

Contract Duration: One-year associate consultancy with possibility of extension will be offered to the final candidate subject to donor approval of this project.
