Associate Director, Care and Treatment

FHI 360 is an international, non-governmental organization that works with the Vietnam Ministry of Health, provincial health services, and local non-government organizations to promote the health and well-being of the Vietnamese people, particularly vulnerable and marginalized populations. In Vietnam, FHI 360 is currently building the capacity of local organizations in HIV prevention, care & treatment, drug treatment policy & practice, research and evaluation.

We are currently seeking a qualified, experienced, and highly motivated candidate for the position of Associate Director, Care and Treatment to work in our Hanoi office:

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Oversee HIV/AIDS care and treatment programs, unit staff, and partnerships, with a primary focus on the USAID/SMART TA project.
  • Provide technical leadership for the HIV care and treatment programming.
  • Manage and support technical unit staff to develop and execute the HIV care and treatment program including methadone maintenance therapy activities and submit high quality deliverables in a timely fashion
  • Ensure the quality and use of data across HIV care and treatment programming
  • Seek to improve the quality of HIV treatment services and improve patient retention in HIV care through implementation of the national care and treatment HIVQUAL system, SMART technical monitoring, and targeted technical assistance approaches.
  • Oversee and support quality assurance efforts through clinical and non-clinical training in HIV/AIDS care and treatment.
  • Represent FHI 360 and/or SMART TA in meetings and activities related to HIV care and treatment with the MOH, VAAC, PHS, PACs, donors, USAID and other US government partners, and other partners and stakeholders.

Experience and abilities for the position:

  • Medical Doctor’s degree or Master’s degree in public health, social sciences or other relevant area
  • 5-10 years’ experience in HIV programming
  • Experience in management role
  • Clinical experience or working experience in clinical health care and support
  • Prior work experience in a USAID health program or with an organization working within the health sector in Vietnam
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills in both Vietnamese and English;
  • Computer literacy (MS Office, email, Internet Explorer...)
  • Ability to travel as necessary
