BRACE Country Representative: Vietnam (Contract)

We fund initiatives to support climate change mitigation in Indonesia that also improves the livelihoods or income of the beneficiaries. We are looking for an outstanding local professional to join as the Country Representative (CR) to oversee our grant portfolio. Currently, we are supporting two multi-year projects in Vietnam, they cover the areas of agriculture and organic waste management.

About Our Organisation:

Established in 2004, BRACE is a registered charity headquartered in Hong Kong.

Our grant funding is currently dedicated to curbing climate super pollutants. With a core focus on agriculture, our in-house team develops climate-smart, economically sound, and behavioural sciences informed interventions in Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and China to reduce GHG emissions.

Job Description:

Reporting to the Executive Director and Programmes Team in Hong Kong, you will be in charge of the following responsibilities. This is a part-time role (2 weeks a month), that requires travel across North, Central and South Vietnam.

1. Grant Management

• Provide on-the-ground quality control for implementation of grant programme in Vietnam
• Liaison with grantee to monitor activities and collate reports, including but not limited to narrative reports, videos, photographs, and testimonies
• Travel to project sites, often in rural areas, and inspect the funded projects (demonstration sites, farmer markets, technical trials, training events and exchange/communication events)
• Accordingly, follow-up with the Hong Kong team on the findings and monitoring reporting

You should have:

• At least 5 years relevant experience in the fields of rural development
• Strong spoken and written Vietnamese and English
• Experience in rural development programmes, international grants or NGOs

Salary: Offer will be made according to experience of candidate

Location: Vietnam

Type of Role: Fixed term contract, with opportunities to renew
