Business Development Coordinator

The Viet Nam Biogas Association (VBA) is an independent, market oriented industry association that promotes the interests of Viet Nam individuals, organisations and companies involved in the biogas sector. The VBA was inaugurated in mid-2011 and is being initially supported by the Biogas Program for the Animal Husbandry Sector in Viet Nam (BP) and the Dutch Development Organisation (SNV).

The goal of the VBA is to become a self-sustainable organisation within the next 18 months. To achieve this, the VBA needs to implement a range of activities and is seeking a dynamic individual with the motivation and vision to help the VBA Board lead the business related activities of the VBA.

Position Description

The VBA Business Development (BD) Coordinator will perform a key role in shaping and overseeing the implementation of the VBA’s work plan and helping define the strategy and future direction of the organisation. This will include developing the approach for the VBA to assume responsibility for some or all of the functionality of the BP in the future. The BD Coordinator will build strategic relationships with key industry stakeholders and define opportunities for the VBA to realise business opportunities in the short and long term future. Initially, the incumbent with also be responsible for general day-to-day administration of the office and assist in establishing the office and office systems.

The BD Coordinator will need a diverse set of skills including general management and administration, accounting, marketing and communications, diplomacy and relationship management. The position will be supported by VBA administration staff, BP, SNV international advisors and the VBA Board.

Responsibilities

- Develop VBA business strategy, work plan, implementation plan and budget
- Collaborate with Board, BP and SNV to define VBA approach for growing membership numbers
- Develop office rules and procedures systems for head office and branch offices
- Manage the VBA budget, expenditures, reporting and cost accounting system
- Oversee procurement of goods and services including professional contracting
- Develop and maintain database of members and key industry stakeholders
- Organise internal and external communication, mail circulation and distribution
- Ensure VBA website is updated regularly with relevant industry information
- Write and design VBA information briefs, promotional materials and help arrange workshops and other industry related functions

Candidate profile

- University degree in accounting, economics, business or relevant field
- 7 years professional experience working in private sector or NGO office environment
- 2 years experience as Office Manager, Program Coordinator, Senior Accountant or equivalent
- Experience building or growing an office or organisation
- Highly organised and motivated
- Good team worker with a positive outlook and attitude
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work and communicate with diverse stakeholders
- Excellent English

Contract Details

A one (1) year contract with the possibility of extension will be offered by BVA.
