Climate Resilience and Agriculture Experts - Call for Resumes (National Consultants)

DAI seeks to build a robust roster of qualified candidates for anticipated climate resilience and agriculture focused donor-funded activities over the coming one to five years. Anticipated program activities will likely take place in Southern Vietnam. Experience and technical expertise is sought in one or more of the following areas: low methane emission agriculture, climate resilience, nature-based solutions, natural resource management and conservation, community-based climate adaptation, climate policy, private sector engagement, and project management.

Experts are sought in the following areas:

  • Low methane emission agriculture: Expand low methane emission agricultural development. Assist key counterparts in the Mekong Delta to develop and implement appropriate interventions to reduce emissions from agriculture and livestock production.
  • Climate Resilience: Building climate resilience for vulnerable communities. Understand which community groups are vulnerable to an array of climate change hazards and how. Experience working with key counterparts to develop interventions tailored to the needs of specific communities in order to build their resilience to climate change risks.
  • Nature-Based Solutions: Promote nature-based solutions. Experience supporting key counterparts in the Mekong Delta to conserve and restore degraded natural ecosystems.
  • Climate Policy: Develop climate resilient and low emission development policies. Experience working with key counterparts to explore and develop policies required for strengthening climate resilience and lowering emissions in the Mekong Delta.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Geography, Ecology, Biology, Agronomy, Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, Geology, Biodiversity or Natural Resource Management, Climate Change or another related field is required.
  • At least 10 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: low methane emission agriculture, climate resilience, nature-based solutions, natural resource management and conservation, community-based climate adaptation, climate policy, private sector engagement, rural development and project management
  • At least 8 years of supervisory experience in building and effectively supervising a diverse team.
  • Ability to perform at a high level and apply diplomacy skills with a wide range of stakeholders, including donors, government officials, private sector actors, and implementing partners.  
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.  
  • Full professional proficiency in English is required
  • Experience working on USAID-funded programs is highly desired but not required.
