Terms of Reference for Co-Worker to the Construction Manager of BEAR SANCTUARY Ninh Binh/ FOUR PAWS Viet

“FOUR PAWS International” is an international animal welfare organisation with headquarter in Vienna/Austria and offices in 12 other countries. Founded in 1988, the organisation pleads for animal welfare through sustainable campaigns and projects.

“FOUR PAWS Viet Wildlife Conservation Center” (FOUR PAWS Viet) is an NGO registered in Vietnam with the declared aim to support the conservation of wild animals in Vietnam and prevent them from trade and exploitation, to support their survival by implementing the appropriate rehabilitation & release conditions, to protect the habitats of natural wild populations, and to raise public awareness for the need of biodiversity protection and conservation of wild animals and their habitats.

FOUR PAWS Viet is in the process of building its own bear sanctuary, open to the public, in Ninh Binh province, for at least 100 former bile bears. The project will be established in close cooperation with the Province Government Ninh Binh. In a first construction phase three large enclosures and several houses and necessary infrastructure will be built. The construction should start August 2016 and should be completed in May 2017.

FOUR PAWS Viet is looking for a Co-worker to the Construction Manager at the next possible date (full-time)

Main work location: Hanoi, Vietnam.

Report to: My La, Recruitment manager

Area of responsibilities:

  • Identification regarding the planning of the Ninh Binh Sanctuary and the goals of FOUR PAWS Viet.
  • Supporting Construction Manager by:
    • assisting in preparing documents
    • translating documents (Viet-ENG / ENG-Viet)
    • arranging meetings with stake-holders
    • joining meetings and taking notes
  • Coordinating exchange of information within FP Viet and towards FP International.


  • Academic degree in Architecture or a higher education in relevant fields, preferred but not required
  • First experiences in the field of construction project management, preferred but not required
  • Very good command of MS office programs, (MS project and Architect software welcome)
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills
  • Highly motivated, driven, hands-on and open-minded, curious, willing to learn
  • Driver license, preferred but not required

Salary: Negotiable, starting at 600USD
