Communication Intern

This position is part time for five months. The position is located in our USAID/HPI office in Hanoi, Vietnam.

USAID/Health Policy Initiative Vietnam (USAID/HPI) is a five year project which aims to assist the collaborative efforts of the Government of Vietnam, U.S. Government, civil society organizations and other stakeholders to develop and implement evidence-based and best practice-driven laws, policies, plans, and programs for HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment, and impact mitigation in Vietnam.

USAID/HPI is seeking to locally recruit a native English speaking intern to provide technical support to all project teams on internal and external communications, and to assist the designated communications lead with communications activities. Specific responsibilities will include:

- Support the communications strategy for USAID/HPI office that includes printed material, event planning and conference presentations.
- Coordinate the development and dissemination of information on USAID/HPI’s work in Vietnam to external  and internal audiences
- Work with project teams to prepare and/or review reports and other documentation in English.

Required skills and experience

- Native English speaker with excellent written and speaking skills.
- Degree in public health, international development, communication, or journalism.
- 2 years work experience in health-related field a plus.
- Residing in Vietnam.
- Experience working in multi-cultural environment.
- Ability to write both technical and non-technical documents in English; strong journalism or writing training a plus.
- Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and requests and prioritize accordingly.
- Formatting and design skills a plus.
