MAG is an international humanitarian non-governmental organization clearing remnant of conflicts in current and former conflict zones.  Present in Vietnam since 1999, MAG has been working to maximize community safety and help those most-at-risk reduce their chance of being in a UXO accident.

  • We are seeking a strong qualified Communications and Safeguarding Coordinator (CSC) who will provide senior-level support to the Country Director (CD) in developing and rolling out country communication strategy, developing communication guideline/protocols, rolling out global and country program strategies in specific areas such as designing materials, printing, dissemination training & workshop…

Major functions: The Communications and Safeguarding Coordinator (CSC) position oversees the internal and external communications and visibility of MAG Vietnam, promotes MAG’s branding and identity, country’s profile through leading and coordinating day to day communication (Facebook postings, media visits, media coverages, filming projects, holding events) and visibility work. The CSC also coordinates Safeguarding work across MAG Vietnam.

This position supports the CD in preparing the reports, case studies, donor visits (as and when required), disseminate country’s initiatives in program and raise awareness on safeguarding. 

The CSC is a country focal to liaise with HQ Communication and safeguarding tems, contribute to global communication and safeguarding initiatives and roll out global communication plan at country level.

Key requirements for the position include:

  • University degree in an appropriate subject or similar knowledge and skills learned through experience, preferably in the NGO sector.
  • Experience working in communication and visual products
  • Experience of supporting, designing and delivering training for a range of audiences.
  • Very strong communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of people and at different levels
  • Ability to work and communicate well in both English and Vietnamese;
  • High level of computer proficiency;
  • The ability to demonstrate integrity and sound judgement. 
  • Interest in and commitment to MAG’s humanitarian mandate
  • Ability and willingness to travel sometimes at short notice.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in an International NGO setting, preferably in mine action.
  • Experience of working in a role that supports safeguarding,
