COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT

Duty Station: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Status: One-year contract, renewable

Position Profile

The Communications Assistant will be based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The Assistant will report directly to the CEO in Ho Chi Minh City. The Assistant will be totally in charge of all marketing and communications activities and work closely with Loreto’s Communications Manager.

Candidates with high competence in English language and translation/interpretation skills will be preferred.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities listed below are inclusive. It is reasonable to assume that additional tasks will be requested, as and when needed.

MARKETING:

1.    Fund-Raising Initiatives

• assist Communications Manager to organize Loreto’s Annual Fund-Raising Event
• brainstorm and coordinate smaller fund-raising events

2.    CSR

• assist the Communications Manager to liaise with corporate bodies and International Schools
• coordinate presentations
• follow up CSR activities

3.    Designing

• sketch/design a variety of Loreto marketing materials: flyers, brochures, posters and others relevant documents
• coordinate designing with Spot Design Company

4.    Photography

• coordinate photo shoots at projects
• make sure to cover all categories of photography: portraits, activities, curriculum, project before/after photos

VOLUNTEERS

• plan excursions for Loreto’s project beneficiaries
• coordinate volunteers for excursions
• call and run Volunteer Meetings
• plan other activities for volunteers

OFFICE ADMINISTRATION

• attend Child Right Working Group Meeting and report to the team
• attend INGOs Quarterly Meetings on a roster with other team members: take notes and update team members
• translate a variety of office paperwork
• interpret for expat visitors inside/outside office
• other ad-hoc tasks

Qualifications:

• University degree, in a related field (for example: marketing, PR, business administration, social work,…) is preferable
• Marketing-oriented mind
• Excellent written and verbal English and Vietnamese
• Advanced computer skills (MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to prioritize while managing expectations
• Flexible attitude
• Excellent communication & organization skills
• Commitment to Loreto Kids Charity’s mission and vision
• Honest and trustworthy
• Willingness to travel to remote areas
