Communications Intern

Position: Full time (July-December 2013)

Location: SNV’s office in Hanoi

Context: SNV is a Netherlands-based Development Organisation that catalyses sustainable development processes and contributes to poverty reduction through our specialised advisory services. Our aim is to alleviate poverty by enabling those on the lowest incomes to be part of social and economic networks and so increase their income and employment opportunities. More than half of our work concentrates on economic and private sector development. Alongside this, we contribute to improving people’s access to basic services such as water and sanitation, and energy.

SNV has been active in Vietnam since 1995. With a team of more than 65 international and national staff located across the country, SNV’s work in Vietnam follows "Market-based Solutions for the Poor” motto and focuses on the following key areas:

Key duties and responsibilities: The Intern will assist SNV Vietnam’s Business Development Unit with:

- Editing documents in Vietnamese and English
- Translation/interpretation
- Photo library management/update
- Asia/Vietnam webpages: uploading news, publications
- PR materials, design, formatting, distribution and inventories
- Assisting the BDU with database management; updating CVs and project references 
- Ensuring filing system is well managed by all projects

Requirements:

Skills and qualifications

- Excellent English language comprehension and communications skills
- Good MS Office computer application skills
- Basic graphic design skills preferred

The intern should possess the following competencies:

- Eager to learn and share knowledge
- Able to work independently and in a team
- Pro-active and confident to ask questions, for advice and clarifications
