Communications & Marketing Intern

Spark is a pioneering initiative dedicated to promoting social entrepreneurs in Viet Nam who are innovatively combating social issues in their areas and show potential for even greater sustainable impact.  In this way, Spark is facilitating a more effective, efficient and accessible capacity development market.
The initiative was co-founded in March 2010 by SNV Netherlands Development Organisation, the Viet Nam Center for Community Supported Development Studies (CECODES), PACT USA and the Center for Sustainable Rural Development (SRD Viet Nam).

In helping local social entrepreneurs to expand or replicate local solutions on a large scale, Spark offers the following support:
- Tailor-made capacity building and expert advice (e.g. leadership, business management, technical, financial)
- Operational seed funding for capacity development needs
- Linking applicants to potential service providers
- Linking sound proposals to international and national social investors

The Communications & Marketing Intern will provide support to Spark communications and marketing activities.
Duration: 2 months, with possibility of extension (expected starting date from late May 2011)

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of Spark communications materials
- Support the maintenance of Spark website
- Assist the National Director in the works relating to fund raising activities i.e. information gathering, material preparation and translation
- Develop and maintain Spark library
- Assist in planning and logistics for events, as needed/requested
- Support Spark team in other activities as needed

Desired Education, Skills and Qualifications:
- Holds a Bachelor degree in one of the following areas: Communication, Business Administration or Economics, Social Studies, or a related field.
- One year’s experience in a relevant field (e.g. communication, journalism, business)
- Passion for social entrepreneurship and capacity development for poverty reduction
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in both Vietnamese and English
- Knowledge of website management would be an asset
- Good computer skills, experience with design software will be an advantage
- Being proactive and entrepreneurial, with excellent team work, networking, and negotiating skills
