Community Education Coordinator
Report to: Manager of the Community Development Program
Starting date: May 1, 2012 or sooner.
Responsibilities:
- Work in close collaboration with other staff members of the Community Development Program, international experts, as well as interns/volunteers to build a solid capacity building program for marginalized populations (drug users, sex workers, people living with HIV, men who have sex with men…).
- Develop sets of training materials on leadership, organizational development, management skills for community leaders of marginalized populations.
- Develop sets of training materials on basic knowledge and skills necessary to reduce HIV and other vulnerabilities, as well as to empower members of these marginalized communities.
- Conduct relevant trainings to community leaders and training of trainers for community members.
- Provide guidance and support to staff of SCDI’s Community Development Program and community-based organizations and networks on documentation of development processes as well as the implementation of interventions carried out by community-based organizations of these marginalized populations.
- Other ad-hoc tasks assigned by the Manager of the Community Development Program.
Requirements:
Experienced in the followings:
- training and developing training materials (candidate is requested to list trainings s/he has conducted, and training materials s/he has developed);
- participatory training for community people and people with lower educational background are highly appreciated;
- working with marginalized population.
- Knowledgeable on HIV, illicit drugs, community development, organizational development
- Fluent in English, both writing and speaking, is a must.
- Experience in project management is a must.
- Knowledge on HIV and civil society is an asset.
- Willing to travel.
- Have ability to work under pressure and tight deadline.
- Good interpersonal communication skills.
- Good organization skills.
