TERM OF REFERENCE FOR INTERPRETATION SERVICES

I.    BACKGROUND

The International Center (formerly known as Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation -VVAF) is a humanitarian organization that has addressed the consequences of war through advocacy and service programs in Vietnam for the last three decades. As a co-founder of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines, IC-VVAF was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1997. Now working under The International Center, IC, focuses on disability support, landmine removal, and mental health programs.

Under the financial support of United States Agency for International Development (USAID), IC is implementing the Disability Support Project named “Moving without Limits” in the three provinces of Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam and Binh Dinh from 2015 until 2022. This project aims to improve the accessibility of the people with mobility impairments in Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, and Binh Dinh to quality and affordable assistive devices.

IC is seeking qualified consultants to perform the following duties:

• Interpretation services for meetings/conferences with participation of international and local experts specializing in rehabilitation.  
• Translation of materials for meetings/conferences with participation of international and local experts specializing in rehabilitation.  

II.    PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

2.1. The purpose of this assignment is to:

• Provide offline & online interpretation from English to Vietnamese and vice versa, including simultaneous interpretation and consecutive interpretation as requested.
• Translate materials from English to Vietnamese and vice versa: The document translation includes but not limited to reports, questionnaires, forms and reference materials which requested/provided by IC as requested. 

2.2. Location and timeline:

• Location: Online & Offline (Hanoi and travel to project sites if requested)
• Timeline: September - December, 2022

2.3. Travel expenses with per diem (for airfares, taxi and accommodation) related to the activity will be reimbursed in accordance with IC policies.

III.    QUALIFICATION:

• Bachelor or higher degree in English language or international English certificate
• Experience in translation and interpretation (both simultaneous and consecutive) from English to Vietnamese and vice versa.
• Experience in translating and interpreting in medicine fields, especially in rehabilitation topics.
• Good management and teamwork skills
• Ability to complete work on time.
