Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) is a five-year global project funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). EpiC Vietnam’s goal is to deliver efficient, affordable, results-based technical assistance and direct services while closing remaining gaps in Vietnam’s efforts to meet HIV epidemic control targets and address the global COVID-19 pandemic. EpiC also has works to combat trafficking in persons in Vietnam.

We are seeking a qualified individual consultant or consulting firm to develop and facilitate training on presentation and public speaking skills for EpiC staff working in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Scope of Work

The selected vendor is expected to develop and deliver a training program on presentation and public speaking skills for up to 30 members of the EpiC team.

EpiC conducted a survey among existing staff in Vietnam on training needs which demonstrated a diversity of preferences for training formats including in-person group training, blended (half online half offline) or individualized 1-on-1 coaching. Moreover, the staff also indicated several priority topics worth exploring in the proposed approach including:

  • Mastering content and delivering with confidence
  • Encouraging participation
  • Using one’s natural voice to be heard effectively (breathing, pitch, and volume)
  • Knowing one’s audience
  • Understanding and using effective body language
  • Effective use of space

The proposed approach should aim to build individual capacity for public speaking and include the following:

  • An assessment of staff knowledge, skills, experience, strengths, and areas of improvement regarding public speaking.
  • Theoretical and practical sessions with opportunities for participants to learn fundamental principles, skills, and techniques, and present and receive constructive feedback and insights.
  • Individualized improvement plans with follow-up if needed.

Vendors are encouraged to articulate an appropriate mix of group and/or individual-level coaching options, and an appropriate timeframe.

Duration

The contract duration is expected to commence on 9 January 2023 until the proposed completion date.

Deliverables

  • Individual assessments to identify potential gaps in knowledge, skills, and experience in public speaking.
