Consultancy Service for Conducting Studies at IFRC

Consultancy service at IFRC for conducting studies on:

1.      The contributions of DIPECHO project in nearly two decades under the DIPECHO 9 project

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and Vietnam Red Cross are implementing the project “Enhancing the capacities of disaster risk reduction practitioners in Vietnam through the consolidation of best practices and lessons learnt for community based disaster risk management (CBDRM), vulnerability capacity assessment and disaster response mechanisms” funded by European Union humanitarian aid (ECHO).

The selected consultant will conduct a study on what are contributions from DIPECHO projects to DRR in Vietnam and also identify the remaining gaps/challenges as well as define key advocacy points for highlighting the identified gaps. More details can be found in the ToR

2.      The VNRC contributions to HFA from 2010 – 2015

Since April 2014, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) launched the Regional Resilience Initiative (RRI), which is a 3-5-year endeavour funded by the Canadian Government and the Canadian Red Cross. This project is supporting the 11 National Societies of the region with the overarching goal of reducing the impact of natural disasters on vulnerable communities in Southeast Asia. As part of this initiative, DRR mapping exercises are being implemented throughout the region to support SEA National Societies in documenting their contribution to national commitments, profile the work of their staffs and volunteers as well as strengthen their existing cooperation with national authorities and in-country partners. Through the review and mapping of the VNRC National Society’s initiatives in DRR as well as the identification of existing partnerships and coordination mechanisms, it will bring evidence about the concrete contribution of the VNRC National Society to both national and regional DRR priorities.

Since the two studies have some linkages with each other, we are looking for competent consultants who can perform both studies together.

The consultants are advised to submit their proposal for both studies including (1) Technical proposal, (2) Financial budget clearly breaks down the cost for each study, to email: [email protected] no later than 11 October 2015.
