The Viet Nam National Plastic Action Partnership at WWF-Viet Nam is seeking an individual consultant to promote and integrate gender responsive approaches throughout the partnership’s activities, approaches, and deliverables. 

1. Scope of work

The NPAP Secretariat at WWF-Viet Nam is looking for an individual consultant to work as the NPAP National Gender Equality and Inclusivity Advisor (here after refer to as the National Gender Advisor). The National Gender Advisor will advise and support the NPAP integrate a gender responsive and inclusive approach across its activities, and ultimately ensure equity and inclusivity in the design and implementation of solutions to tackle plastic waste and pollution. The National Gender Advisor Advisor position will report to the NPAP Manager and coordinate closely with local team members as well as collaborate with the GPAP Global Gender and Inclusivity Advisor and the broader GPAP team at the World Economic Forum.

2. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will exhibit:

  • Hold a master’s degree or higher in social science, gender and development studies, public policy, or another related major;

  • At least 10 years professional working experience in government, business, or development sector;

  • Proven experience in mainstreaming gender into action plan is a must;

  • Proven experience in conducting gender analysis on related issues on production, consumption, management, and disposal of plastics will be an advantage;

  • Good understanding on stakeholders working on gender equality in Viet Nam;

  • Demonstrated ability in engagement with the public, private sector and development partners;

  • Excellent verbal and written English and Viet Namese;

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;

  • Excellent facilitation skills;

  • Candidate must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and an organized thinker with the ability to juggle multiple priorities, handle assignments independently, and work under tight deadlines;

  • High integrity, passion for sustainable development, and good sense of humor preferred;

  • Advanced skills of Microsoft Office, Internet, and virtual meeting tools.
