Consultancy Service at WCS

The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) is a US non-profit, tax-exempt, private organization established in 1895 that saves wildlife and wild places by understanding critical issues, crafting science-based solutions, and taking conservation actions that benefit nature and humanity. WCS has been working in Viet Nam since early 2006 to strengthen the commitment and capacity of the Vietnamese government to combat wildlife trafficking.

The Hanoi Procuratorate University (HPU) is the primary body that trains future prosecutors and also carries out ongoing training for prosecutors in service. From March to December 2019, WCS will support HPU to develop and institutionalize an elective course module about judicial issues in CWT. This course aims to introduces students to wildlife trafficking situation (Viet Nam’s role in global wildlife trafficking value chains, major products in the trade, common modus operandi of criminal networks…), legal framework relating to this sector and best practices in handling wildlife crime cases.

A consultant group is being recruited to work with WCS to implement this program. Please see more information in attached file.
