Vacancy: Consultant on Baseline Survey

Save the Children and Plan have developed the Vietnam Child-Centred Climate Resilience Program with the goal to build the adaptive capacity of vulnerable children and their communities in Vietnam to manage the impacts of climate change. Now we are looking for a Vietnamese national for the position of Consultant on Baseline Survey, to lead a team to conduct Livelihood Assessment for Program in Tien Giang Province. The contract is expected to start as soon as possible in September 2013.

Consultant’s Key Responsibilities

- Review and adapt the Project livelihood Assessment protocol and tools of project with project team
- Conduct assessment and propose livelihood adaptation models in Go Cong Dong district and Go Cong town, Tien Giang province
- Develop pilot models
- Pilot testing models at the field
- Conduct a TOT a training on technology transfer.

Key Competencies:

- Skilled and experienced in livelihood assessment
- Sound experience and knowledge of climate change and disaster risk reduction
- Good experience working in the community especially in the Mekong Delta provinces
- Experience working with international development organizations and Vietnam
- Experience working with people with disabilities, children
- Proficient skills and experience of using participatory methods
- Expertise in the field of agriculture
- Prior experience in similar research in Vietnam is preferable.
