Consultant to Conduct Baseline Survey

Consultant’s responsibilities:

A national or local professional will work independently in consultation with related Project Manager/ MEAL staff to complete the following tasks:

  • Develop detail proposal of baseline survey including qualitative and quantitative methods, tools for the baseline survey. The tools should be designed to measure project indicators. The Consultant is encouraged to use Kobo for data collection.
  • Pre-test and finalize the tools.
  • Conduct the baseline survey (using both qualitative and quantitative methods) in Ho Chi Minh city, Can Tho City and An Giang province with logistic support from SCI.
  • Prepare qualitative and quantitative data sets for analysis.
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data and write a draft report of the study, answering all research questions.
  • Orally present findings of the study to a small audience suggested by SC to receive feedbacks and provide clarifications.
  • Finalize the report after getting the feedback from SC, and submit the finalized report to SC.

Consultant’s Qualifications:

The national or local professional should have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in conducting studies on children issues.
  • At least 5 years of experience in conducting M&E related activities on Child Rights and Child Rights Governance.
  • Familiar with developing survey using online form (e.g. Kobo toolbox, ...)
  • Good skills in both qualitative and quantitative data analysis (Nvivo, Epidata, SPSS, Stata).
  • Knowledge about LGBT groups in Southern Vietnam is a clear advantage.
  • Willingness to discuss and cooperate with SC staff for achieving the best survey results.
  • Good English language skills.
