Consultant for the JANI Project ‘Disaster Risk Reduction for People with Visual Impairment’

ADRA in Vietnam is seeking a consultant for the JANI project ‘Disaster Risk Reduction for People with Visual Impairment’.
The project’s objective is “To reduce vulnerability of children (and adults) with visual impairment through the development of suitable and accessible resources in Disaster Risk Reduction” with funding from DIPECHO for the period of March to September 2011.
The project aims to implement the JANI project activity ‘Developing DRR IEC materials for children and adults with visual impairment’.

A consultant will be selected to provide technical advice on the development and adaptation of disaster risk reduction materials for children with visual impairment in the context of Vietnam. The consultant will be required to work in conjunction with the National Blind Association to conduct a needs assessment, develop materials, facilitate field testing and ensure their suitability for children with visual impairment.
Knowledge of mobilisation and orientation for people with visual impairment is also desired but not essential.
