SUBJECT:  Consultant to support Business Start-up Trainings to CBOs/ Social Enterprises

1. Background

Healthy Markets aims to grow a viable commercial market for HIV-related goods and services capable of meeting the needs of populations facing the greatest risks. The project is expected to leverage private-sector solutions, expertise, interests, and assets to identify market opportunities and catalyze market responses to the HIV epidemic. The project also supports a phased transition from an environment where condoms and other related HIV prevention goods and services are predominantly subsidized, to one where non-subsidized commodities, services and distribution channels are the norm.

Specific objectives of the project include:

1. Objective 1: to increase private sector and local investment in the market for condoms and other HIV-related goods and services;
2. Objective 2: to increase demand for condoms and other HIV-related goods and services among key populations facing the greatest HIV risks; and,
3. Objective 3: to increase private sector supply of condoms and other HIV-related goods and services among key populations facing the greatest HIV risks.

2. Purpose of the consultancy: to support Business Start-up Trainings to CBOs/ Social Enterprises

3. Scope of work:

• Under HM, PATH plans to design and conduct trainings on business start-up for social enterprises/ CBOs who are selling condoms, lubricants, LDSS or who plan to do so. PATH is looking for a business consultant to work on this.
• Design one day business start-up training course targeting CBOs/ social enterprises
• Conduct two one-day business start-up training courses for CBOs/ social enterprises in HCMC & Hanoi
• Develop training materials
• Provide advice on types of capacity building on business for CBOs/ social enterprises

4. Timeline

The HM team needs support from Feb 1 until April 30, 2016.

5. Travel

Travel is required.

6. Reporting and supervisor

The consultant will work directly with the Sales and Distribution Specialist in Hanoi.
