WWF-Vietnam is looking for Consultant on conduct  Biodiversity – Environment Impact Assessment (BEIA), Participatory Social Impact Assessment (PSIA), Endangerous species researches to comply with ASC standard at Shrimp Farm at Soc Trang province (TOR is attached)

1. Objective of the consultancy

The aim of this service is to full researches on BEIA, PSIA and endangered species in order to identify and ensure farms’ conditions matching with ASC requirements to be ASC audited by independent certifying bodies.

2. Activities

Scope of work to be completed under the assignment:

PSIA research

• Prepare a methodology and procedure to conduct a p-SIA at farm level in-line with the outline of the appendix II of ASC shrimp standards and The p-SIA should address all issues identified under requirements of standards: 3.1.1, 3.2.1, 3.2.2.
• Conduct field survey based on methodology and procedure to conduct p-SIA at farm level in-line with the outline of the appendix II of ASC shrimp standards (including assessment tools and mitigation and offsetting).
• Conduct training for staffs and workers at farm to implement the action plans identified in the p-SIA.

BEIA research

• Prepare a methodology and procedure to conduct a BEIA at farm level in-line with the outline of the appendix I of ASC shrimp standards. The BEIA should address all issues identified under requirements of standards: 2.1.1; 2.2.2; 2.3.1; 2.3.2; 2.4.1; 2.4.2; 2.4.3; 2.5.3; 2.5.4 and 6.1.2.
• Conduct field survey based on methodology and procedure to conduct BEIA at farm level in-line with the outline of the appendix I of ASC shrimp standards (including assessment tools and mitigation and offsetting) and produce final report of assessment.

Endangered Species research

• Do a search of published and grey (e.g. local newspapers, magazines) literature to identify endangered species that occur in the area.
• Determine whether any species occuring in the area are listed as endangered by relevant Vietnam authorities.
• Prepare a list of all endangered species occuring in the area by combining results from activity i. and ii. above with results from  the IUCN database search.
• Prepare written procedures describing how the farm avoids negative impacts to endangered species that may occur on the farm.

3. Required profile:

Consultant should have related background in environment, biology, aquaculture, agriculture, Food technology, business administration or relevant subject.

Knowledge/Expertise: Minimum 3-years experience on technical consultant in aquaculture, particular in Shrimp standard.

Experiences: Experience on consultant international standard Global GAP, ASC,… in aquaculture.

Skills and Abilities: Good at writing report and communication, understand local context.
