Job Opening: Development of Vietnam’s Green Textile and Garment Sector Vision and Action Plan

WWF was one of the first International non-government organizations working in Vietnam. In 1985, WWF began working on a national conservation strategy and since then has worked closely with the Vietnamese Government on a diverse range of environment issues and implemented field activities across the country.

WWF-Vietnam is seeking (a) Consultant(s) to lead the development of Vietnam’s Green Textile and Garment Sector Vision and Action Plan. The Consultant(s) will be responsible for the facilitation and coordination of the development process (Detailed TOR is in attached file). Results from this task will help shape sustainable textile & garment industry in Vietnam.

Key requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge and experience of working with Vietnam textile and garment sector in general and sustainability aspect in specific;
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of working with Vietnam textile and garment sector in general and sustainability aspect in specific;
  • Excellent knowledge and experience on global textile and apparel market and familiar with key brands sustainability plans;
  • Excellent knowledge on Vietnam’s textile sector supply chain, regulations and to some extent technologies adopted in Vietnam;
  • Very familiar with the environmental dimension of the textile sector (i.e. water, energy, chemical and waste management) and familiar with the social dimension (i.e. labour, safety), such as laws and regulations, stakeholders and national and local initiatives;
  • Ability to run economic forecasting of the sector growth, predict resource needs and implications and simple modeling to demonstrate economic opportunities to transit from “made in Vietnam” to “sustainable made in Vietnam”;
  • Experience in multi-stakeholder partnership and consultation;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and diplomatic skills with the ability to manage and interact at all levels of an international, multicultural and multilingual organization;
  • Sound knowledge of Vietnam’s political, economic and social contexts.
  • Ability to communicate and write in Vietnamese and English languages.
