SNV is a not-for- profit international development organization. Founded in the Netherlands in 1965, we have built a long-term, local presence in more than 30 of the poorest countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Our global team of local and international advisors works with local partners to equip communities, businesses and organizations with the tools, knowledge and connections they need to increase their incomes and gain access to basic services – empowering them to break the cycle of poverty and guide their own development.

SNV has been working in Vietnam since 1995. Using market based approaches, SNV is committed to reducing poverty by catalysing environmentally sustainable solutions for the poor in agriculture, energy, water & sanitation, and REDD+.

SNV Vietnam is expanding its activities in Vietnam. We anticipate a number of exciting upcoming opportunities and further growth of our Agriculture and Energy sector portfolios, and therefore have a continuing need for long and short-term Vietnamese professionals and International specialists that have experience in Vietnam and the SE Asian region with one or more of the following areas of technical expertise.



  • Resilient supply/value chains
  • Agronomy and Animal Husbandry/Agribusiness/Public Private Partnerships
  • Ag economics and finance
  • Rural development/livelihoods
  • Cooperative and farmer group development
  • Microfinance
  • Gender and Women’s economic empowerment in Agriculture
  • ToT/capacity building for extension
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use:
    • Climate Smart Agriculture including; i) supporting smallholders adapt to climate change and; ii) reducing emissions from agricultural activities e.g. through sustainable rice intensification, biomass waste to energy, livestock etc.)
    • Deforestation-free supply chains (certification, supply-chain monitoring and traceability systems) – particularly in relation to key commodities driving deforestation e.g. shrimp, coffee, rubber, cassava etc.
    • Low emission land use planning and practices (green growth, integrated planning, GIS/RS)
    • Public-private- producer partnerships for sustainable agriculture/landscapes
    • Agroforestry
    • Forestry, Sustainable Forest Management (SFM planning, certification) and Forest Landscape Restoration
    • Collaborative forest management and community forestry
    • Unlocking finance for CSA and sustainable landscapes (innovative financial mechanisms, climate finance, green bonds)
    • PES and REDD+ (sub-national planning, benefit-sharing and fund distribution, safeguards, forest monitoring systems).
