About the Asia Accountability Initiative

The Asia Accountability Initiative (AAI) works to ensure food companies follow through on their commitments to go cage-free. We collaborate with local advocates across Asia to hold companies accountable for their animal welfare pledges. About This Role

We are seeking a driven and strategic leader to launch and lead a Vietnam initiative. As the Vietnam Country Lead, you will build this national initiative with our support—leading corporate engagement, applying public pressure, and ensuring companies meet their cage-free egg commitments.

This is a unique opportunity to shape a new campaign from the ground up, with guidance from our regional team and backend support from our Program Associate (who handles email scraping, automation, and campaign tools).

We’re looking for someone who is self-motivated, resilient, and unafraid to think outside the box. You should thrive in a fast-paced, evolving campaign environment and be excited to test bold ideas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and lead corporate accountability campaigns targeting companies with cage-free egg commitments in Vietnam.
  • Tailor and implement strategic pressure tactics using proven templates adapted to the Vietnamese context.
  • Track companies’ commitments and public reporting on progress.
  • Communicate with corporate stakeholders, escalating when necessary to regional or global teams.
  • Build partnerships with Vietnamese and international allies to amplify campaign impact.
  • Use digital and social media to publicly pressure companies.
  • Maintain organized records of campaign activities and outcomes.

Key Qualifications

  • Fluency in Vietnamese and English, with strong communication skills in both.
  • Strong cross-cultural communication skills, particularly in corporate and professional settings.
  • Independent and entrepreneurial mindset; able to take initiative and work with minimal oversight.
  • Resilient and composed under pressure; able to navigate difficult conversations and setbacks.
  • Excellent research, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Comfortable working remotely in a distributed team.
  • Strong time-management and follow-through.
  • Creative problem-solver with a solutions-oriented mindset.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in advocacy, communications, media, campaigning, corporate accountability, or legal work.
  • Familiarity with Vietnam’s corporate sector and business culture.
  • Understanding of animal welfare issues, especially cage-free egg standards, is a plus.
  • Experience with tools like mail merge, CRMs, and online research platforms.

Why This Role Matters

Hundreds of companies have made cage-free commitments set to come due by 2025—but without accountability, these promises risk going unfulfilled. As the Vietnam Country Lead, you will help ensure meaningful progress and improve the lives of millions of animals in the process.
