Country Director

You are invited to join one of the greatest international non-profit organizations – Environment and Development Action in the Third World (enda-TM). Headquartered in Dakar, Senegal, enda is an association of autonomous entities coordinated by an Executive Secretariat.  enda's missions are to collaborate with grassroots groups in search of alternative development models, to enhance the knowledge and tools existing in local development efforts. In other words, enda identifies and supports community development initiatives to improve living and environmental conditions.

The current open position is Country Director of enda Vietnam with very challenging key roles:
- Manage the overall operations of enda Vietnam entity in line with its vision, missions, and approaches.
- Research and develop new and exciting opportunities to support urban poor communities while networking with other local and international organizations.
- Lead the enda Vietnam’s experienced team in scaling up environment and development projects in association with stakeholders at different levels (national, city, ward and communities)
- Look for new donors and funding sources.
- Recruit, coach, and develop staff towards work effectiveness and professionalism

Skills and experience required:
- Leadership and people management, counseling, and consulting skills
- Project management (scopes of work, finance, relationship)
- Experience, skills and network for fund raising
- Master degree in related field and excellent writings especially for proposal and reporting
- At least 5 years of experience working in international NGO and having practically worked in the position of Manager / Director or Country Manager
- Good understanding of NGO’s working environment in Vietnam (opportunities, limitations, relationship with local authorities and project partners)
- Deep understanding and proven practical experience in social and environmental development programmes, using community participative approaches

Working conditions:
- This position reports to enda representative who is based abroad; accountability to an advisory board and to the enda headquarter
- Direct reports: programme manager, project coordinators, finance manager, office staff
- Office: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; Project locations: nationwide; Travels and connections: internationally
- Salary to be negotiated in accordance with qualification and experience
