Country Director

Vietnam Health Improvement Project (VNHIP) is a United States-registered NGO operating in Quang Nam province and Da Nang city of Vietnam. Our office is located at 12 Nguyen Duy Street, Da Nang City.

Our purpose is to get quality healthcare to those that need it. VNHIP has been carrying out four projects in Quang Nam:  1) Non-communicable diseases management, 2) HIV care, 3) disability and 4) water, sanitation and hygiene. With those, VNHIP has made significant contributions to the health and quality of life of the most vulnerable and marginalized people of Vietnam, especially the children living with HIV, people with disabilities, ethnic minority people, girls, women and older people in the Central Vietnam.

VNHIP seeks a person to lead and manage the organization through the next stages of our development. This candidate will also continue to manage and further develop the existing projects and project managers.

Skills Required

  • At least 5 years of project management experience
  • Fluency in English speaking and writing
  • Formal training in medicine – nursing, physician, public health, health policy
  • Age > 35yo
  • Experience working with a foreign NGO is preferred but not necessary
  • Computer skills – MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Ability to travel out of town monthly or bi-monthly
  • Organized, patient and good skills in working with a team
  • Comfort with oral presentations in English

Responsibilities

  • Project Management – assessment, planning, reporting
  • Project Development – develop ongoing projects, spearhead new ones
  • Organizational management – finances, personnel, reporting
  • Liaison with local and national government officials
  • Volunteer management
  • Communication with director and board of directors
