An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and committed professional to join Australia’s leading international volunteer sending agency – a valuable contributor to the sustainable development in a wide range of communities.

We are currently recruiting for the position of Country Manager – Vietnam, to be based in Hanoi. The successful applicant will be offered a 2 year maximum term contract.

Reporting to the Manager Regional Operations Asia (based in Melbourne), this position will manage a small office, ensuring the coordinated delivery of a high quality Volunteer Program in Vietnam.

The successful applicant will possess the following:

  • Demonstrated experience in initiating new programs at country or regional level – with a focus on project/program development and implementation and monitoring as well as security, risk and critical incident management
  • Previous volunteer/deployee management experience – especially experience dealing with wellbeing support, conflict and sensitive issues
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of development issues in the region and well-developed cross cultural awareness, particularly in a Vietnam context
  • Previous experience working in Vietnam and fluency in Vietnamese would be highly desirable
  • Strong administrative, financial and problem solving skills – experience managing a small office will be well-regarded
  • Previous staff management, preferably in an international context
