DEPUTY DIRECTOR

The Institute for Studies of Society, Economy and Environment (iSEE) is a non-profit organization working for human rights, especially the rights of minority groups, with a mission to promote the values of freedom, tolerance and equality in society. Founded in 2007, iSEE has continuously promoted the rights of homosexuals, bisexual and transgender (LGBT), and ethnic minorities (EM). iSEE has also contributed to the expansion of the space of civil society, policy dialogues, and particularly leadership capacity buildings for community groups.

iSEE now has a vacancy for a Deputy Director, who is qualified and committed to iSEE’s vision and mission. Being a part of iSEE means joining hands for the positive changes of minority groups and a better society. You will also be a part of an active, diverse in majority, gender, ethnics, sexual orientation and gender identity group.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop organization’s strategies and initiate new programs based on identified strategies;

  • Lead program teams and different projects to achieve expected objectives of the organization

  • Participate in advocacy efforts in areas of expertise

  • Build capacity and provide technical support community partners to achieve their goals

  • Develop and maintain partnership with relevant partners and stakeholders

  • Participate in fundraising activities of the organization

  • Strengthen organizational branding and values and represent iSEE at different platforms, conferences and meetings.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Master degree or higher, preferably in anthropology, economics, public policy, development, laws and human rights. Holding PhD degree in one of these fields is an advantage;

  • Have experience in research, civil society, capacity building or policy advocacy in Vietnam;

  • Have strong leadership and management capacities and good communication skills.

  • Have strong interest in development, human rights or social movement;

  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Vietnamese

  • Commit to the values, principles and working practices of iSEE, including social equality, rights-based approach and respecting diversity.

The position has a competitive salary, two-year contract with possibility of extension. 2 months probation starting from the date that the contract is signed, with 100% benefit according to iSEE’s policy.
