PSI currently seeks a talented and committed individual to improving the health of low-income and vulnerable communities to join our dynamic, results-focused team in Hanoi as Deputy Team Leader for our sanitation social marketing project.

Job purposes:

Under this multi-partner project, the Deputy Team Leader will be responsible for leading an innovative sanitation marketing portfolio that includes establishment of a commercially viable, scalable and sustainable business models to address sanitation needs in Vietnam. This position will work in a complex space of entrepreneurs, service providers, finance institutions, government institutions, NGO partners, local authorities and consumers to achieve both business sustainability and health outcomes.

Major duties:
• Lead the design, development, and coordination of all aspects of the sanitation behavior change project
• Lead and provide effective and respectful supports to a team of professionals with different cultural and sector backgrounds
• Develop metrics and establish a monitoring and evaluation framework for tracking progress for the project
• Engage with relevant government/local partners to promote coordination and partnerships with partners/stakeholders
• Provide expertise in developing and executing sustainable business models for water, sanitation and hygiene, including research on existing markets and barriers to growth;
• Identify and incubate private sector partnerships to deliver quality products and services through the development of systems, partnerships and training modules for provision
of business development services;
• Assess needs, opportunities, gaps and constraints for accessing finance for consumers and entrepreneurs;

Selection criteria
• Master or higher-level degree and fifteen (15) years of experience in relevant field such as business, social marketing and/or public health;
• At least eight (8) years of proven and successful experience with design and implementation of sanitation behavior change programs in developing countries; experience in both a private and a public sector context preferred;
• Prior experience working with finance and/or business development agencies to develop financial products and to deliver business development services preferred;
• Strong knowledge of the sanitation and hygiene sector, especially in the areas of project design, implementation and evaluation; familiarity with the water, sanitation, and hygiene sector in Vietnam desirable;
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
