Position Title: Driver
No. of positions: 03 (three) positions - One bases in Hanoi; one bases in Lao Cai and one bases in Son La
Location: Hanoi, Lao Cai and Son La, with frequent travel within the project areas
Period of Assignment: July 2019- June 2020 (with possible extension)
Reporting To: Provincial Coordinator (in provinces) and Admin/HR Officer (in Hanoi)

Cowater is recruiting 03 drivers to manage project cars in Hanoi, Lao Cao and Son La (Vietnam) and to support a socio-economic development initiative in Vietnam. The Program aims to increase women’s economic participation and decision-making through improved access to markets and more effective engagement in the agriculture and tourism value chains in ethnic minority regions of North-West Vietnam.

Statement of Duty:

Reporting to the Provincial Coordinator (in Lao Cai or Son La) and Admin/HR Officer (in Hanoi), the driver is responsible to providing high level administrative and logistical services to the Aus4Equality project. This includes supporting the provincial team and the Project Management Unit (PMU) across an array of duties in accordance with the procedures and guidelines laid out in the Aus4Equality Program Administration Manual, and Program Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Specific Duties:

  • Use cars in compliance with vehicle use regulations of donor and GREAT program;
  • Safely take staff and other partners (if any) to business and field trips (safe for people and vehicles);
  • Ensure the most effective use of project cars; timely and properly respond to the requests for vehicle use;
  • Ensure safe and economic parking of the vehicles;
  • Monitor timely maintenance, replacement and upgradation of car’s facilities;
  • Support delivery of documents and/or correspondences to partners;
  • Support and facilitate workshops, project events and project office logistics; and
  • Other tasks required by program staffs.

Requirements:

  • Eligible driving license (minimum B2).
  • Good health for long driving.
  • Familiar with Son La (particularly Moc Chau and Van Ho Districts) and Lao Cao area
  • At least 5 years of continuous driving.
  • Skilled and careful driving, very good knowledge of Vietnamese traffic law.
  • Careful, agile, calm and hard-working.
  • Willing to work flexible time.
  • English is an advantage
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Experience in working for projects.
