Context:

Under the overall direction of the Head of Administration Unit in HCMC and the direct supervision of the Logistic Assistant, the driver/messenger will ensure that the office vehicles are in good running order at all time, and that relevant security and assistance are provided to the persons transported in the IOM vehicles. More particularly, he/she will:

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Drive IOM office vehicles (7 and 4 seats), strictly observe the traffic laws and maintain a safe driving record;
  • Manage the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicles to ensure cleanliness and roadworthiness;
  • Travel at the request and approval of the Head of Sub Office/COM;
  • Handle courier responsibilities, including documents, packages and money;
  • Manage the telephone operator/postal service when requested;
  • Provide logistic and administrative support;
  • And perform any other related duties that may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Secondary School Diploma.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in driving and/or maintenance of vehicle or big equipment or other relevant experience.
  • Work experience with any UN agency or diplomatic missions would be an advantage.
  • Good communication skills.

Languages

  • English and Vietnamese is required.

Other

  • Appointment will be subject to certification that the candidate is medically fit for appointment and verification of residency, visa and authorizations by the concerned Government, where applicable.
  • Only candidates residing in the country will be considered. A prerequisite for taking up the position is legal residency and work permit, as applicable.
