The job holder a gifted storyteller and content strategist based in East Asia experienced in social marketing. This person is comfortable driving content through social media and the web, is strong on editing/driving multimedia content, and can develop marketing plans based on social media analytics. The ideal candidate has worked with or in the non-profit aid industry.
Duties:
- Develop, implement, and oversee digital communications.
- Manage World Vision’s flagship social media channels in Asia Pacific including: writing posts, scheduling content, monitoring conversation, engaging with community members, and reporting consistently on channel/community performance for insights, optimizations and future strategy development. Coordinate with counterparts in South Asia to populate content.
- Edit/create/advise on multimedia content (still photography, text, video, audio, animation, interactive, mixed) and distribution.
- Coordinate with and advise 8 national offices on content marketing/strategy/distribution.
- Drive content cross-platform in collaboration with colleagues in advocacy, fundraising and technical sectors.
- Track communicators’ progress on story assignments through internal content management system and serve as liaison between World Vision offices worldwide and country offices in the region for content production/commissions.
- Conduct media training workshops (video, media relations, disaster and crisis communications, sub-editing) as needed (in-person or virtual).
- Support crisis communications and coordinate emergency/disaster-related content gathering.
- Monitor social media trends, including advertising formats, channels and technologies; provide recommendations on leveraging new tools/services.
- Provide real-time support for technical troubleshooting, editorial guidance.
- Facilitate and/or link National Office communicators with training opportunities.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Required:
- History of collaborative content generation.
- Strong performance on a job writing/editing test, which will include a project design simulation component.
- Direct experience managing social media accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram on behalf of an organization.
- Draw actionable insights from social media metrics.
- Proper and innovative execution of work in all areas on schedule.
- Strong English, including ability to copy-edit in English.
- Possesses well-developed analytical ability to extract insight from data and plan next steps across multiple marketing mediums.
- Ability to convey complex ideas through compelling, succinct writing.
- Proper and innovative execution of work in all areas on schedule.
- Able to work in a cross-cultural environment with multi-national staffs.
- Bachelor Degree in public relations, marketing, journalism, communications or a related field.
- Commitment to Christian values and World Vision mission.
Preferred experience:
- Key role in effective, creative and/or award-winning advocacy marketing campaign (public or private sector).
- Relevant work experience in Asia-Pacific, or developing country context.
- Experience with World Vision content production pipeline.
- Asian language(s).
- Demonstrated understanding of social advertising campaign management and optimization practices across major social media channels.
